SALVATION by WORKS? – NO!

NOT AS A RESULT OF WORKS

Ephesians 2:8-9, “…for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, that no man should glory.”

NOT ACCORDING TO OUR WORKS

2 Timothy 1:8, “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

NOT BECAUSE OF WORKS

Romans 3:20 “…because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.”

…OF WORKS? NO!

Romans 3:27, “Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.”

JUSTIFIED APART FROM WORKS

Romans 3:28, “For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.”

APART FROM WORKS

Romans 4:5-6, “But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:…”

NOT BECAUSE OF WORKS

Romans 9, “For this is the word of promise: “AT THIS TIME I WILL COME, AND SARAH WILL HAVE A SON.” 10 And not only that, but there was also Rebekah, when she had conceived twins by one man, our father Isaac; 11 for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls,…”

NOT ON THE BASIS OF WORKS

Romans 11:6, “But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, since otherwise grace is no longer grace.”

NOT JUSTIFIED BY WORKS

Galatians 2:16, “…nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified.”

NOT ON THE BASIS OF WORKS

Titus 2:5, “…to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.”

God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works.

GRACE ALONE

FAITH ALONE

Grace alone means that God loves, forgives, and saves us
NOT because of who we are or what we do,
But because of the work of Christ on the cross.

Works are the visible proof that we have been saved faith alone.

TRUE SAVING FAITH IS EVIDENCED WHEN WE LIVE OUT OUR FAITH IN OUR THOUGHT LIFE…

AS WELL AS OUR DAILY LIFE.
